Default Transmission Problem

Ok, so...now my 95Jeep Grand Cherokee doesn't want to shift,(it's an automatic) and refuses to go above 30mph. Anyone have any ideas, however remote, what the cause may be? I don't know what kind of transmission it runs, and I don't yet have a Haynes Manual for it yet.
Any advice you guys can provide, I would appreciate...
thanks...

Sounds like it went into a "limp" mode. This is set up to allow you to get home but not much else.
I would suggest getting a repair manual and read how to test your transmission. Most problems can be located with a "air test".
Good luck.

Check the fluid level idling in neutral.
