I'm trying to figure out how to adjust the transmission cable on my 1998 Grand Cherokee - the one that is attached to the throttle body.

I've found lots of information on how do it on the regular Cherokee, but not on the Grand.

This is what I'm talking about, but my grand doesn't have that button on the cable up by the throttle body:

Is there a similar procedure to adjust the cable on the grand? The jeep shifts rough and late.... jerks forward ect.

It seems like this cable is my problem.... if i floor it - it shifts fine. However, if I'm in a partial throttle situation it shifts very late and rough. There is a lot of slack in the cable going from the throttle body to the transmission.

Why would the there be any difference between a grand with the same motor?

It should have it the only difference is the GC usually has the cruise control cable next to it. Could you post a picture? The only way I could see this having no button is someone swapped it for an aftermarket cable instead of adjusting it.
