I've been trying to get it to run right. It's really sluggish in first gear, I've already changed the filter and fluid and ran some lucas threw it, and still does it. I was thinking it was the TCM but I can't seem to find it. If I shift it manually it does fine. Also the OD light does not come on, I don't know if that makes a difference. By the way it is 94 I6..any advice would be great

The '94 GC 4.0L 6 cyl. has either the 42 RE or 42 RH trans. It doesn't have a separate TCM. The trans shifting is controlled by the Powertrain Control Module.

Well that's good to know, I've been looking for it for a couple of hours now lol.. Do you know what could be my problem?

 

I'm sorry. It could have a separate TCM under the dash on the drivers side to the left of the steering column.
I'm getting old.

Haha..That's fine I'll just give it another look tomorrow, do you know what it looks like? I've replaced one in my 97 XJ and it was under the driver side dash on the right, and it was silver. This one I can't spot anything.

 

No it just tells the location. Sorry.

 

Well I think I found the TCM. It was bolted up on the firewall with two 13millmeter bolts on the driver side. I took a pic of it to see if I got the right thing out.
