so i re drilled the front track bar today and i got the axle to sit pretty darn close to perfect. The only thing is now my steering where is straight up and down, thats really the only way i could explain it. anyways i was coming home on the highway doing about 65 mph. prolly shouldnt of been doign that with the wheel all cockeyed but i did. then i hit a dip and got some serious death wobble. my question is when i go in for an alignment tomorrow will it possible get rid of the dw?

The alignment will fix the steering wheel issue as to death wobble what you described is bump steer. Do a search cause I don't have ALL night to tell you what can cause it and how to fix it.

No it most definetly was dw I had to pull over on the highway it was so bad. My question was why did I get death wobble after redrilling the hole.

MAKE SURE THE TRAC-BAR IS TIGHT BEFORE YOU CONTINUE...
You may have drilled the hole too big, or not straight through. If the hole is drilled correctly, an allignment will most likely fix your death wobble. Redrilling the hole moved the axle, which changed the angles of all your steering components. You now need an allignment. A bad allignment will also eat tires quicker than you can imagine. The longer you hold off on it, the more it will cost you in the long run. If you drove with the axle off center, it could have also damaged bushings; most likely in your control arms. If your control arm bushings are damaged, it will 90% of the time cause death wobble. There are many causes of death wobble, do some research online. Google is your friend..

dont know if its the same...but I just did this on my xj and had similar symptoms...I loosened the two bolts on the steering shaft by the pitman arm turned them out a couple turns til the wheel was straight and like magic my steering problems went away

Steering stabilizer is a band aid. I haven't run one in years. If hitting a bump caused it it is most likely bump steer which is like death wobble. Death wobble doesn't need a bump it just happens. If you haven't had an alignment the wheels are prob pointing inward and will also cause these issues.

literally the same thing happened to me last week. get the alignment done and it should be good to go. Ur steering wheel will probably be close to 12 aclock again but it might be off a little.
