Track Bar Help
Im getting ready to replace my track bar and have a question about the swap...
Do I have to ratchet strap my front end some how? I saw a couple of videos that I cant find any more where the guys were using a ratchet strap on the front end before they took the track bar off.
Any things I need to know before I swap out my track bar? I don't really understand what they were using that strap for, nor did they explain it in the video.
Thanks

Old fart with a wrench
I think that was to support the axle while on a lift. If you do it on the ground on a jack, everything should line up pretty well. When the axle is allowed to hang without the trackbar, the steering linkage will pull the axle to the left and make it hard to re-install the trackbar. At least that's what I think.

When the bolt holes don't line up, use the ratchet strap to pull the parts sideways to get the second bolt the hole.
