Towing capacity of '96 Grand

Hi, I am curious as to the towing capacity of my vehicle. Is 6000 pounds the limit on flat land and at highway speeds?

No engine info, whether or not you have the towing package, and any other towing mod's you've done?

Model: Grand Cherokee

Engine: 4.7L V8

My '97 had the 5.2L V8, 4WD, heavy duty cooling system and tow package and 5,000 lbs. was supposed to be the limit on it according to the owners manual.
