tow hooks
Why can't I put tow hooks on my 00 WJ? Later models have them, but mine doesn't seem to have the mountings for them. Anything is possible, but I really don't want to tear apart the whole front end to mount them. Any ideas?

Hey Dave, tow hooks were available on all WJs. >http://www.wjjeeps.com/towhooks.htm
Find a WJ at pick-a-part with them and get the hooks w/all the mounting hardware. Or get them at the dealers while they're still available. Part #s on the above link.

Okay, but there is no way to get into the frame to mount anything unless I pull the whole freakin' grill out to get to top of it. There are only a couple of 3/4" holes in the bottom, one of which is D shaped. I was going to take them off my ZJ before I trashed it, but I couldn't figure out how to mount them on the WJ. The frame is only about half as thick as the ZJ was. Morris has them for 04s and up, but not for mine. I guess I'll have to do some more research.
Okay Blue. I just calmed down and went to your link. It's pretty obvious I went off too soon. Now I understand. They sure don't make it simple, do they?
I just heard Obama gave Chrysler to Fiat! Not sold. Gave! WTF?

It's not that bad Dave. A few screws, and plastic rivets...
Nothing surprises me anymore, but Chrysler wasn't given to Fiat. They screwed/I mean sold themselves.
The following is taken from an article by:
*By Bernie Woodall | Reuters – Tue, Oct 30, 2012 Fiat has raised its ownership to 58.5 percent of Chrysler, up from the 20 percent share it took after the U.S. automaker's 2009 bankruptcy.
Marchionne said the only commitment he can make now is that Fiat will press ahead with its plan to purchase 3.3 percent of Chrysler every six months by exercising a call option allowed in the 2009 bankruptcy agreement with the U.S. Treasury.
Fiat can buy up to 16.58 percent of Chrysler in this fashion, which could increase Fiat's stake in the Michigan-based automaker to about 75 percent.
But Marchionne says he wants to unify the two auto makers by 2015, but first needs to fix Fiats finances.
Marchionne said that Fiat still intends to complete the purchase of all of Chrysler, but the Italian automaker must fix its own house before adding on to it.

I was just on militaryjeepers.com and somebody posted a letter from the CEO saying jeep production will remain in the US, but they may build an assembly plant in China because it's the world's largest auto market today. This would be for the Grand Cherokee, if I'm not mistaken.
