Tired of your faded plastic cladding and bumpers?
I got tired of the faded ashy cladding and bumpers on my 95 Laredo and found the that the bumper covers were cheap at www.rockauto.com, but the shipping was close to 200 bucks! I toyed with the thought of using bedliner coating and finally gave way to temptation.
A couple cheap cans of primer and some Rust-Oleum truck bed coating. I removed the front and rear bumper covers and scuffed them up with a Scotch Brite pad and cleaned them with soap and water. After they dried I gave them a coat of primer and then a good coat of the bed coating. I then carefully removed the side cladding and inspected the clips that hold it all on. There is one acorn nut on both rear doors that has to be removed too. I cleaned and scuffed all of the cladding and did the same prime and paint as I did with the bumper covers. I cleaned the 16 years of built up dirt off of the door where the cladding was. The texture of the bed coating is almost perfect for the plastic. There are three different clips that hold the plastics on, the big clip will work on both sides, the smaller clip will have a right and left. I marked the clips so I will get them back in the right spot. I also made a run to the boneyard to practice removing the plastics and to harvest extra clips. You can really see the difference in the pictures bellow. I'm going to finish it up tomorrow and post some before and after pictures. What do you guys think so far?

I still need to do the rocker panel cladding, but I want to use something like under coating for those. Here is what is looks like for now, and a before pic.
