Default Test crankshaft position sensor on zj?

I've been trying to figure out what's wrong with my 94 JGC for a few days and have had a couple people say crank shaft position sensor. Problem is its a bit spendy to just replace. Is there away to test it to see if it is bad?

Unhook the connector to the cps and hook up an ohm meter (1K to 10k scale) between terminal pins B and C. It should show "open" or no resistance. If a low resistance is shown, the sensor should be replaced. Just replaced mine for about $26, but it turned out to be a bad fuel pump. Now I have a spare cps.

There is a very good u-tube video about testing it in the post just before yours. Check it out!

Where did you get one for $26??? I've narrowed my problem to CPS or fuel pump now...the fuel pump no longer engages, not sure if the cps could cause that.
The only video I've seen was for a newer wrangler. I'm sure its similar on a zj but you never know.

Sorry, I dyslexic typed $26.. it was $62.. at Advance Auto :/ You might check fuel pressure at the fuel rail.. if gas just dribbles out, there's not enough pressure. A quick jab at the valve should make gas squirt all over the place. My pump tested good, was running, but just didn't have enough pressure. After I got it out, I hooked it up and it still worked.. just no pressure. After about 5 minutes playing with it (using water tho) it finally died.. still runs, just doesn't pump anymore. Since then, I've read on these forums that the resistance test isn't a sure fire indication of the sensors condition. After doing both, the fuel pump was way easier to replace than the cps. Fuel pump took longer for obvious reasons, but still, easier. Hope you find the problem.
