Default tail light?

kinda new to the jeep world, i just got a 99 laredo wj. with my lights off my passenger tail light is out, with them on my runnin lights work but when i hit the brakes the driver side is out. from what i heard there was recall for a circuit problem or something of the sort, if so can i still go to a dealership and get it fixed or is this an easy fix i can just do at home

What happens with left turn signal? Faster blinking?

Replace the brake bulb.

Try pulling that bulb out, there are 3 contacts, 2 together and a single. The single is the ground. Pry that up a bit on the light housing so it makes better contact. Did that to mine and now I have no lighting issues.

It could also be an incorrect bulb installed in that socket. Go to the auto parts and get the correct bulb and try that.
That happened to my father in laws van when he installed the wrong bulb once.

That's funny, but I've had two (from two marriages) and they've both passed away.

Thanks. Not at all, and no offense taken. They were both great guys that just happened to get called home a little early.

You can call any dealership and give them the vin number of your vehicle to check for any recalls and whether they have been taken care of. I learned this when I called to find out about a recall on my van. I just gave them the vin and they went to their magic computer and pulled everything up.
