No a suspension lift raises the distance between th chassy and the axles... doesn't matter if its 2 or 4 wheel drive. They range any where from 70$ (budget boost) to 3500$.

thanks for the help... i was looking at a budget boost lift from rock lizard fabrications for 300$ which lifts it 2.5 inches. do you think this sounds good?

Hell no. You find pucks way cheaper then that. Go to Google and search, pucks should be around 80$ and new shocks around 40$ a piece.

Brackets for what your track bar? With only 2.5" you will BARELY notice. If your gonna spend 300 plus shipping,tax,etc- then why not spend an extra 200$ on a 3.5 or 4" tough country lift? Then you get new CA, track bar,etc

My bad man i was thinkin you had a zj, prices are a bit different for an xj- Go to the junkyard and pick up some zj front coils from a V8, they will give you 3-3.5" of lift in the front, buy some blocks for the rear, and then buy some shocks off rustysoffroad.com for 33.00$ a piece.
