Starting issue
I have previously posted in "Fuel pump out" about my ZJ's issues lately. I believed it to be the Fuel Pump because when I went to start it one night, the fuel light was on, and the Gauge wouldn't read. I have since replaced the entire fuel system (new complete module, and filter). STILL a no go! I have tried key lock reset advice, I have checked all my relays, there is fuel to the rail... I did find that my amp Gauge also isn't working, and even when the engine cranks, my coil isn't getting spark... With all this in mind, the fuel light and gauge, amp gauge, no spark at the coil... Could this be an ECU/Computer deal?... I there a way to test the Comp, before I gamble on a $200+ part? Any ideas?

Does the gauge read now? See if there's spark at the distributor. If not then see if you can barrow an ECU just to test for a problem, pull one from a JY ect.

Anyone?..... No voltage to or from the coil... Also checked the fuel pump plug... No power... Is there an anti theft device that would cut power? What Bout a Crank Pos Sensor?.... Would that play a part?

I would seriously be thinking ECU right now. No fuel, spark and the gauge still wont read after replacing all the fuel components.

How about my Crankshaft Position Sensor? I hear that it is a ground of sorts to the PCM... It checks the position of the pistons/cylinders and then sends a signal to the PCM to start... If the CPS is out, PCM will not let the truck function properly/Start.... Any ideas on that?

Dont if 97 is the same but my computer needs reset sometimes. Runs fine for a few weeks. Out of the blue wont start, no gages nothing. Engine turns over fine. Local mechanic told me to leave key off, pull blue harnes off of computer, turn key on, Then plug the harness back in while ignition on. You will here relays and fuel pump kick in. Works on mine!!!
