spider gear
In process of replacing rear differential with one from a wrecking yard. Removed cover on replacement and there is some slight pitting on a couple of the spider gears. Non at the edge, all about in the center of the gear surface.
Will it be ok to use, in your opinion?
Thanks,
ER

What do the races look like? If there is pitting on them it usually means a little moisture got in the diff. You can replace bearings and races though if they're bad. Post a picture if you can

Is your original axle beyond hope? If you're going to rebuild something, why not rebuild the one you've got? At least then you'll know where you stand, not relying on some unknown POS.
