Hi, when driving hard or long it smells like burned rubber on the right side, i thought it was oil from the rear diff that was spilled on the exhaust, but the oil level in the diff is correct, so it must be something else? It seems to be somewhere between the right front dor and rear tire. When i park the car on the snow its not leaking anything, i tought every jeep should leak a litle ;-) i'm sure the front seal on my TC (249) is leaking, but not much and only when the car is running, sinve there isnt any trace of any leak on the snow (not even after 3-4 days)

Small leaks in the transfer case can and sometimes do get wipped by the drive shaft and wind to land on the exhaust. it is close. but has a unique smell that you usually can tell from rubber.. if it is a rubber smell then I would look at the hangers for the exhaust or look to see if the exhaust has gotten close to something.. That smell is not normal.

Jeeps do not have to leak as atested by my own that the PO told me it leaked ever since he bought it.. I replaced a front and rear pinion seals and the front Transfer case seal and no leaks for the last 10 months.. Better then I can say about my 07 caravan that has used a quart of oil every 1000 miles for the last 5 years. Dealer was at a lost and never would fix it..
