My 95 Jeep Grand Cherokee shakes violently when you put it in either reverse or drive. As soon as you touch the gas the shaking stops, starts again when you come to a stop. Idle is steady but the oil pressure gauge fluctuates when it is shaking. I checked the oil and transmissions fluids and all is good. Changed gas filter, spark plugs, distributor cap and air filter hoping it just needed a little tune up but it still shakes. On 2 occasions it had shaken and cut itself off. Just to help you understand the kind of shake I am having it feels just like I am in a straight drive and let out on the clutch to far and it is about to choke down. Sorry for the long post. Just wanted to give as much info as I could. Thanks in advance

Does this happen with both a hot and cold engine?

It shakes no matter if I just started it or its been running for an hour. But the only time it ever trys to cut off is when it's cold

Check the engine & transmission mounts for damage / failure.

Also, check for a loose torque converter.

2 of my motor mounts looked pretty rough. I'm gonna change them out and see what happens, appreciate it.
