A shake while braking, ideas?
Hey all. I'm new to the forums. My parents recently picked up a 97 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo to take down to their place in the Bahamas. When you step on the brake, you can feel a shake. I turned the front rotors and replaced the pads and everything looks good but there is still the shake. It's not as bad this time but still there. To me, it almost feels like a pulsing which may suggest an ABS issue although I don't know (I'm a classic car guy and ABS isn't something I've ever had to work with).
I did a search and came up with nothing so any ideas guys? Thanks!

Could be a bad stabilizer or you could have a lose bolt on your trake bar. I had a vary bad death wobble and it was because my trake bar bolt was lose. Tires could also be out of balance. Just throwing stuff out there for you.

Generally a shake or pulsation while brakign is cuased by just that, the brakes. Rotors are $16.99 each at autozone replace them and be done with it. If your rotors are to think it wont take much to rewarp them.
My next suggestion would be to check the wheelbearings.

jeeper makes a great point, and if there was any rust flakes on the hat of the rotor you could of turned some warp into them, if they werent sitting perfectly flat on lathe.
