You're not supposed to sip the outer lugs on an M/T tire, they'll come apart and wear faster. If you sip only the inner-middle lugs there is no reason the tire wouldn't last as long or longer then an unsipped tire. And you're not supposed to cut very far into the tire either, I think an 1/8 of an inch at most, otherwise you will weaken the lug.

I couldn't take it I ordered guard dogs today 31s about 2 weeks back order for 3ply sidewalls.

I got the guard dogs. But I skipped on the keggel crap cause all I heard was it reduces the tread life of the tires. The tread looks wicked tho!

My biggest question is tho how big of a difference will the 255/75/17 be compared to my old 255/65/17

There are a bunch of tire size converters on line just google it and they should all tell you the difference
