Hi Everyone,
I just ordered a few uncut transponder keys for my 2000 Grand Cherokee Laredo WJ... I've been running around for years with only one (1) key so I thought it would be a good idea to make a few extras...
I only have one (1) of my "original" keys so I'll need to go to the dealer or locksmith to get one of these new ones programmed (thus producing a "clone")....
My question is: Once I get the 2nd key programmed (the "clone") from the dealer/locksmith, can I use that key along with my original key to self-program another few keys?
I know the self-programming takes two (2) keys and I want to know if it can be done with an "original" key and a "clone" key....
Also, I purchased a 2nd Key FOB (Remote Keyless Entry), will I need to have the dealer or locksmith program this new one? Some websites/forums indicate it can be self-programmed 'cause I have a working Key FOB transmitter whereas some sites say it must be programmed by the dealer or locksmith...
Thanks again everyone for your help....
