I am looking to see if anyone has made there grand cherokee doors removable like a wrangler and if there was a write up.

i have never even looked at the hinges of the WJ. i don't think it is possible but i would be interested!

 

ive got a zj and i wanted to do this also. is your a wj or zj?

 

i would like to know how to do it for both really! the more i am thinking about it the less hope i have for a solution though.

 

Just unbolt them from the door jambs, but it is not quick and easy. Highly over rated in my opinion. A trail only rig, I think it would be cool and fun. A daily driver, I think not. I would be too worried about some scumbag doing something or stealing something while it is parked someplace.

 

my 94 zj is trail only. I have a set of full doors and a set of cut down half doors. It doesnt take to long to unbolt the whole hinge (4 bolts per door). Just wanted to see if anyone had done the door mod like they do on the xj's

my buddy and i have been looking into this and we've had the doors off but not completely yet the wiring harness is are problem we have no problem taking off 4 bolts every time we wanna ride door less. but i think i'm going get behind the kicker panel and put quick connects for the wiring.

 

nvm! i guess he jumped into it today with out inviting me (*******) and got them off he said all you have to do is unplug the wiring harness. he said he'll take more pics when he gets to it and send them to me all he has sent me it this 1.
