Rearend noise 01 GC
usually hear it on acceleration, from 10-40mph.... ring and pinion gears? Or pinion bearing? Should i rebuild or swap ?Can someone tell me what (year/makes).... rearends are Interchangeable with an 01 GC,4x4, v-8

Yes select trac... the noise is a hum... usually under acceleration.( about 10mph +)..less noticeable under coasting , and it also has like a grinding, ratcheting , clicking ( from the rearend)sound from both sides when I turn real tight ( left and right)

Being a V8, it probably has the aluminum center D44a axle in it. The hum is probably caused by worn pinion bearings adding to the backlash. The grinding,clicking could be the planetary gears in the carrier assembly. You should have somebody check it out.
Understand this is my opinion which may or may not be true.
Interchangeability? 99-04 Grand Cherokee V8 models. IDK if it goes beyond 04. I just had to replace my D35 rear axle, $500 including shipping with a 30 day warranty from the internet.
