Hello! I have 96 ZJ and i have problems with rear wiper. Sometimes it work great but sometimes gets stuck (blade goes to the end of window without a problem, but it wont come back)... It comes back in parking place after few hours or days (sometimes by it self, sometime by opening the trunk)... All this happens because door actuator or motor or what?
i know its not a big problem, but anyway... i want to have all operating like it should

If opening the liftgate sometimes helps, my bet is you have a wire nearly broken through where the harness leaves the body to enter the liftgate. The real PITA is that it's intermittent. Start by pulling the cover and make sure the plug to the motor is not corodided and it's securly connected. Next, put a multimeter to it while it's not working to see if it's the wiring or a weak motor.

problem solved!
i took wiper motor off, took it apart, cleaned from corrosion and dirt, added fresh grease, sealed and put it back - now it works even better than new one! So if you have slow moving or sticking wiper - its a corrosion on motor shaft. Do it before it stick completely and burn the wiper motor.

there was corrosion on the shaft tunnel wall that was clamping the shaft (that goes to the wiper blade). Even, there was a noticeable sink on shaft from the movements. The plate and motor were clean... only shaft and tunnel were corroded. Also, old grease was more like plasticine than lubricant.
