Rear shock absorber choice.
What do you guys think is the best rear shock absorbers from the two choices I have listed below. They will be fitted to a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee, 2.7 CRD. The idea is to firm up the rear end.

Bilstein is the best choice, hands down. They say that white shocks are all the same, only the sticker is different.

Thanks for the reply Bustedback I was kind of thinking that way myself, but as I have never had to change a shock absorber it is good to hear it from someone else.

You see, everybody has their own choices. I personaly have always used Monroe on my cars.

My ZJ has that "jelly" feeling when going slow on uneven roads, even with new KYB Gas-Adjust shocks. I think it's just the way the rear link set up feels. Off road and at highway speeds feel much better.

My WJ has that nice solid feel without being harsh. Turns are flat and steady and there is no hop on washboards or railroad tracks, but I can feel driving over a flattened beer can. Off-road, you do a bump ONCE. Where I like it is when you pull into a driveway that has a storm wash gutter, it goes in and comes out. No second bounce.
I find it amusing that the PO used Monroe 500's as well.

I just happen to put Monroe Sensa Shocks on my ZJ. The rear shocks are the load adjusting version with the spring. And the ride is smooth on the highway and firm and level in the turns. So it is up to everyone choices and their price points. I did look up several choices before I made the purchase. To my surprise the springs on the rear shocks have not affect ride quality.

Yeah, I bought the Sensatracs. I seldom need the added spring-overs, however, I'm sorry I didn't. I used Monroe 500's when I drag raced when everybody else swore by Konis. Never had a problem with wheel-hop and have been using Monroe ever since.

Thanks for all the replies, and advice. I have just ordered 2 rear Bilstein B6 off road shocks. I hope this makes the wife think she is driving an X5 again lol.

In the end I went for the Beilstein B rears. Best thing I ever did. gone is the bounce and it corners almost level. Now saving up to do the front, and fit super pro bushes to the rear.
