Alright, here goes. As the title states I have a rattle behind my steering wheel in my 98 ZJ. Personally I've learned to live with it, my passengers are absolutely driven nuts because of it however. At first I thought it was behind the dash cluster, but when I puled it apart nothing. I started it without a cluster and the rattle is still there and no obvious movements are noticeable. Its on all road surfaces, even on idle. I believe that it is in the tilt mechanism somewhere. The best way I can describe it is bb pellet that is continually bouncing on plastic.
