So This morning i go out n jump in my jeep to go to work. Start er up and then hop out to remove my sons car seat. When i pull off i hear a kinda rattling noise, never heard this before.. ever. No check gauges lights or anything. I pull over to look under the hood, sounded like it was coming from under the alternator. When i got off work, the rattleing wasnt there anymore.. BUT the oil gauge rolls to close to 40 when moving then down to 0 when i slowdown or stop, then the check gauges light came on.

Now it hasn't been long since my last oil change, but when i checked my oild i was DRY AS A BONE! what is going on? No way its leaking no puddles anywhere. My guess is since its a v8 and i drive daily and my last car was a small vehicle i just need to change my oil way more ofthen? or is there somthing else wrong besides user error? thanks.

On the V8's change every 5k. Depending on the miles use 10-40.

Filled the oil, seems to be okay... Probably took some life off the engine. Gonna go get the filter changed on pay day. I just had a oil change i dont understand why this happened so soon.

Could be sparky at the goob-n-lube didn't put enough oil in it last time or maybe didn't snug up the oil filter tight enough.
Might want to take a peek under the vehicle to make sure it isn't coated with oil from it leaking/spraying while you drive.
