Quick Question about part name
My brother-in-law has a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee with a Inline 6 and a Automatic transmission. The part I need identified is on the passenger side of the engine. It is a heavy piece of steel in the shape of a L and is bolted on the lower side of the block under the oil filter and goes back towards the transmission under the starter it has a rounded end link with a hole that looks like a bolt should be in it. Close to that is another item that has a connecting hole, they look like they should be joined.
What are those parts called and what are they used for?

The only big heavy thing on that side that comes to mind to the starter coil. Its cylinder shaped and has a couple of thick wires connected to it . It's a part of the ignition system. Without a picture this is my best guess.

Huh, took a gander at my 04 when I got out of work and I don't have that piece on mine. There is a spot where it looks like it would go though.

It bolts to the engine under the filter and just above the oil pan. The other rod looks to connect to the transmission mount. But looks like a bolt is missing that should connect them together. We took it back in the the repair shop that replaced the rear main seal. Hopefully nothing was jacked up because of this.
