PT4WD light won't turn off
In my 2000WJ, 4.0, the indicator light for my Part Time 4WD won't stay off, no matter how much I move the shifter; sometimes goes out but then will be on next time I start the car. It's not engaged-at least I don't think so, doesn't sound or act like it.
I just installed new front axels, had new 245/70 R16's mounted.
I'm going to crawl under today to look for something jammed maybe?
Any insight amongst you folks?

That light is controlled by a screwed in plunger switch in the side of the transfer case. Either the switch is stuck or the wires in the plug are cracked from flexing. I had this happen with the reverse lights on my WJ. It was a broken wire in the plug for the NSS. (neutral safety switch)
The harness plugs are available from a dealer, but usually have to be ordered. OR you can cut one out of a wreck.
