Default problem with my rear spring isolators

Went to do my 2in spacer lift on my WJ. front is done right no problems there, but when I got to the rear I had massive **** problems. I got the bolts loosened and removed from the sway bar and the shock bolt. Took the spring off and then boom bad stuff. I tried pulling off the lower isolator and it wouldnt move, tried to use a screwdriver to pryf it off, still nothing. I looked at it closer, looks like someone used RTV on the dang thing to keep it there. So I am now ordering new isolators, how will I go about removing the old ones? any ideas? anyone? please help.

Not sure why someone would do that, are you sure it's RTV'd in? Mine where pretty hard to get off as well, took about 20min a piece with two screwdrivers just breaking them loose, I almost thought they didn't come off.

But if they're really stick on there, you could try heating them up with a heat gun and then slicing them off with a razor.

I was thinking the razor idea. It looks like a sloppy job of RTV, but I'll try the screwdrivers again, I had one wide one last time and I couldn't move anything or get under it at all. Just need it done before I leave for school in a week.

I just don't know why anyone would do that unless they thought it would stop some squeak or something. Try it again and if not just get it hot with a blow gun and slice it off, call it a day and replace them.
