2002 jeep grand Cherokee limited . 4.7 v8.

We have had -32 c with Windchill at -55C
Was driving the jeep most of the day. stopped to get something at the store and the oil cooler split.
The jeep has literally zero steering.
Looks like the specific oil cooler is obselete at mopar and out of stock at rockauto.


I have been trying to find any info on this setup.
Would like to bypass if possible as the wife drives the jeep very little and it never tows anything.

Are there any links to info or video.
Is this a low pressure application so I can use hose clamps and std trans cooler. or make a line to thread in a by pass hose.

Any and all help appreciated.


looks like it should be low pressure side of the steering system.

 

So, I have found out that the oil cooler is obsolete.

Can anyone confirm that the cooler runs on the low pressure side.
Can I use hose clamps and an aftermarket cooler.

Does the hydro static fan need a cooler if i am not towing with the jeep and rarely drive on 30 Celsius days.

Is there a different forum more suited to the grand cherokee.

You can pick up a hayden tranny cooler. Several different sizes for under 50 bucks. Quick and easy and probably way better than nothing

 

So the cooler is o the low pressure side. I should be able to get away with hose clamps to secure it.
