Hi, my line from gastank to my evap canister was loose, i fixed it and now the transmission actualy shifts more correct i think, is that posible? the hole in to the evap canister where i put my gastankt line is a tiny tiny hole, does vacuum leaks have so much to say in how the car acts? Before i had to give much gas to have it do downshift if i get to a hill, but now it downshifts fine, much more like if i where using cruise control, i have also replaced the elbows on my crank case, but thats some days ago. Is cheking for vacuum leaks something that shold be 1st thing to check if the car acts funny/strange?

Yes. Vacuum leaks can cause an engine to run lean, and hot, as well as cause problems with the system controlled by the hose/item that might be leaking.
