Popping Noise Coming From NP-247 Transfer case
This is on my 99 Wj with the 6.5" lift i just put a new motor in it and decided to fix the popping noise coming from The Transfer case when i would put a load on it or try and pull something in 4LOW this jeep comes with the NP-247 TC
Once i got the TC apart i found out that the oil filter was chewed to pieces and small little delivery tube and ruber connecting hoses were disconnected so basically the there was no oil being circulated.
I have checked all the visible gears for wear and tear and have no sigh of any wear or grinding of any kind.
Now my question is has anyone had a similar problem?
I need some Help!!! I want to put my Jeep Back together

okay i found the chain had to drive clear to the other side of houston but i found it compared it to the old one i took off and there was like 1/4" difference meaning that mine had strech that much i dont know if that was my problem but i bought it and put on today also found the little filter or screen that goes to the fluid pump that had come off and been chewed up and intalled it also i almost got all back together and i broke a little rubber O ring so ill have to continue on it tomorrow after i buy the part so far so good

I have a similar problem on my jeep. And I could not fix it anymore so I have decided to set it aside.

Sheeesh...one problem after the other. It's quiet sometime since you've posted. I guess you're busy fixing the jeep. How is the jeep progressing?
