Default Please Help Me figure out my fathers jeep trans problem

Hello.
My name is Micha. My father is old so my sister and I are trying to see if we can fix his car for him.. He car is doing something weird. When he puts it into drive it like slams or engages hard into first and reverse. Then when he pushes the gas it moves very slow, as if first is not engaging. It will rev the motor up, but just moves very very slow. It was driving fine but when we came out of the grocery store, it just started doing this. We checked all the fluids we could find but they all say full. It just started doing it. He says he had the transmission coils (?) replaced a few years ago which cost him $1600 from the dealership. If there is a mechanic here on this website can you help us figure out what is wrong?

There are no lights on the dash as I searched on google.
