please help!
I have a 94 grand cherokee limited 4wd 4.0.
Recently replaced the distributor cap and cat to solve a very bad sputtering and back fire problem. Now every time I'm driving and come to a stop and start to accelerate the rpms drop from about 700 to 0 for a split sec one time long enough for it to die completely. thinking crankshaft sensor? Maybe??

Almost sounds fuel related. How's you fuel pressure? Has the filter been changed? Are you showing any codes? Check the easy things before you go throwing parts at it.

I agree, check as much as you can, i.e. fuel pressure, ignition coil, and test the crank sensor wiring etc,etc before throwing parts at it.
