New grand Cherokee Lorado owner
Hey guys..I just got myself an automatic 95 Jeep grand Cherokee Larado and i am debating converting it to a manual. What years can I pull a manual tranny off of to put in my jeep and about how much would this project cost? How much of a pain in the a$$ is it going to be?

there were some 5 speed ZJs in 93 and 94. IIRC 1200 in 93 and 400 in 94. very rare. rarest ZJ made actually. you will want an AX-15 transmission. its a pain in the *** but it can be done. google search "ZJ 5 speed swap" and see what comes up

This is a project that's probably more than you want to do. This would be like building a truck from scratch! First of all, finding a transmission/transfer case combo would be like searching for the fountain of youth. If you wanted to go 2WD, there are possibilities, Then you have to deal with the different electronic. The cost and labor would be like building an all-out off road competition machine. NOT for the faint of heart or small budget.
