So my Pcv valve snapped as I was trying to remove couldn't get it out, decided to try and take the grommet off but then that wouldn't come off, probably because it was so old, had to chip it off, went to autozone and bought a new grommet and a new Pcv valve grommet fit just right but when I went to put the pcv on the hole on the grommet was to big! Went back to autozone and they said that's all they had, decided to try oreily's auto parts same freaking issue!!! What the heck is going on!

 

Go to a dealership. I had this problem a whole back on my 4.0 liter. Wasted too much time driving to all the auto parts stores in town trying to save a buck, and dealing with some kid that is still in high school only reading what the computer tells him to. Finally gave in went to the jeep dealership in the next town, and they had it in stock grommet and pcv, picked up a couple of pre bent emission lines that I had been Jerry rigging for the last couple of years also.

 

Any idea how much it was? I've been trying to mess with it all day!

 

Finally got the correct grommet but now the Pcv valve is really hard to install it will not fit on the new grommet this is annoying

 

If I remember install the valve in the grommet before installing on the vehicle. Coat the contact points of the grommet with some type of oil ( borrow the old ladies "Pam") the it should be easier.

 

Damn it! I installed the grommet in the valve cover and then I tried putting the Pcv valve in thanks for the help

 

Geez finally finished the Pcv I didn't think it was going to be so much trouble thanks for everybody's help

 

Hopefully you don't have to do it again...

 

By the time you need to replace it, the new grommet will have relaxed to fit the valve and you shouldn't have this problem again.
