P0340 troubles
I turned the jeep off to get gas, filled up and tried to start it. It had trouble starting but needed up firing up. I then parked at home and came out yesterday to go to work and it wouldn't start. After throwing the p0340, I tested the battery and it was dead. I then put it and and it still wouldn't Fire and threw the same code. I soon after decided to replace the cam shaft positioning sensor as the code indicated. Now it has a new battery and cam shaft positioning sensor. Also upon taking the old sensor off the internals (magnet and housing) fell apart inside the housing. I got all the peices out and then put the new one on. I'm unsure of where the metal part that spins around the magnet was. After putting it back in not touching it as much as possible the new part made it back fire and run poorly. I removed it and turned it to what a video said was too dead center. Now it's back on, won't start, but quit backfiring. What should I do? I just got into jeeps and don't really know for sure what the problem could be. Any help is appreciated. I also tried spraying starter fluid int the intake as well as jumping it (sort of brain storming). Please help
