Oil Pressure

I have a new 2020 Grand Cherokee V6 that usually runs about 30PSI oil pressure. Monitoring the oil pressure, I see it spike to 80PSI when starting out from a dead stop and drop back down to 30 after 5 or 6 seconds. Took it to a Jeep Dealer service center who claims this is completely normal. Really? Maybe I’m just used to idiot lights versus a gauge. Anyway, if what he claims is true, I suspect many of you have already dealt with this question.

That is within specs for that engine.
The Penastar has a variable pressure pump that varies the pressure based on oil temp and RPM. Watch the pressure change from cold start to fully warmed up while you drive.
92-102psi on cold start (depending on how cold it is). When it comes down off fast idle it drops into the upper 80s, then as you drive it goes down into the 70's as the oil warms up. When the water temp gets around 180F (oil about 100F) the pressure will instantly drop to around 40 psi. When you come to a stop light it will go down to 23-27psi.
When fully warmed up it will run 23-27 at idle, 40 during regular driving and when you get on it (above 3,500 rpm) it goes back up to the 90's.
Up to 130 psi may be considered normal under certain conditions.
