Default Oil Leak

My brother-in-law has a 97 GC with a 4.0 in it just replaced vavle cover gasket and oil pan gasket. And now its leaking oil close to the front of the engine near the radiator, he is going through a quart of oil just as quick as he puts it in. Can anyone help.

Default oil

Need to find out where its leaking, no good saying.. near the front.
Clean all the oil of, put in a lamp to lighten the mood, and start her up.

Now i could be missing something here, and that is you have done work to her, someone maybe able to say.. its cause you didnt do this..

But really, i think you know this already .. sooo hmmm.. will keep an eye on this one.
Good luck bud.

Jamstir.

Default Oil Leaking

I have a 2001 GC with the 4.0l and it also leaks alot from the front of the engine. I did the usual, wipe, light then wait. Its dripping in the vicinity of the crank pulley seal and/or the front oil pan gasket that mates to the timing gear cover. I think I will do the Front Main seal first.

pay attention to the front main seal, it's likely the oil has been blowing back from there

You would see the oil coming out of the vavle cover so I would put my money on that he did not do the front seal right on the oil pan. Trust me those main seals will go though alot of oil in just alittle amount of time.

Ive found it to be the oil filter mounting block adaptor that leaks like a harley . knowone wants to admit it. I think you have to lift the motor to repair this leak. i knew i didnt like that chrysler emblem !

the front main seal is not part of the oil pan

Why you type so bold? Me think make you sound like Fezzik.

The oil filter adapter will leak, but that will drip to the back and mimic a rear main. Everyone admits it, no cover up going on there.
