O2 sensor MIA???
On my problem child 94 GC limitied 5.2,
I was planning on replacing my O2 sensor since the exhaust smells "gassy",
I've climbed around under it and I'm not seeing one or even the harness for it.
Does my ZJ have an o2 sensor?
It's build date is 4/94 and I'm assuming it should, but where should it?
Before/after the CAT, closer the ex manifold, etc?
Thanks guys

Your's should have one O2 sensor placed bofore the CAT, thinks that all 93-95 got it like that.
On mine their located on the upper side of the exhaust pipe, allthough mine is an -97 with two ones your's probably mounted the same way.

Old fart with a wrench
On my '97 4.0 it was just below the manifold-to-pipe flange and the harness came from the front of the engine below the PS pump. I can't remember, but I think it didn't have a downstream sensor.

Thanks Jarna and Dave,
It was tucked-up on the pass side very close to the trans tunnel. So it was just hard to see until I really climbed around it and ran my hands all the way down/around the ex pipes.
Talk about being a nightmare to change!
I had to "McGyver" it.
I took the new o2 plug and taped it to my longest flat tip screwdriver (gorilla tape). Putting the locking tab/retainer against the tip of my screwdriver (to keep it from sliding down the screwdriver shaft.).
Then applied some dielectric grease on the edges of the new o2 plug.
I then slid my long pry bar up the trans tunnel and behind the jeeps o2 wire harness plug (so by twisting my pry bar I could manipulate the harness plug angle/position.)
I then slid the two plugs together and as I lined them up, I pushed and they "clicked" together!
Then I just held the harness' steady with my pry bar and lightly twisted my long flat tip screwdriver to stretch the tape and pulled it straight down and out, my screwdriver came right off-done!
With my hand/arm slid up, in between the trans, trans tunnel and ex pipe, my fingers were still a good 3ft from the jeeps o2 wire harness plug and there was no slack in the wire. It was just "peeking" over the top of the trans.
