I have the np249 in my 95 GC Limited 5.2 i believe i've read on here you can swap to a np242 buy just changing the tail stock's is this true and does it matter if it was on a 4.0l or does it has to be off a 5.2. Or should i just try to fix the cv on mine keep the np249? If you think i should stick with what i have please send link's to replace the cv thanks Scoot

 

A few V8s had the 242 t-case, but not many, so you might get lucky and find one. But you can use the 242 from the 4.0L if you combine parts from both it and your t-case. There are write-ups on here and else where about it.

ya my tcase is shot. i may have to do this. now is the v8 242 a direct swap in if i have a 95 zj 4.0?
