np242 wont come out of 2wd
so my girlfriend fell in love with this 95 zj and we bought it! anyways.... the 4x4 shifter will not budge out of 2wd at all. i checked the fluid and its a little low, but would that really be that bad? i also crawled under there and peaked at the shift linkage, and im gonna try to manually shift it with some channel locks. any advice or common problems? thanks!

Try and pull the lever into 4hi while you're moving. I bet this rig has never been in 4wd in its life, most Grands have never seen dirt.

Yea I've done that. Also tried popping it in neutral while shifting, stuff like that. It is pretty crusty under there... I'm gonna try changing the fluid to see if any chunks come out or something!

I had this exact problem man use channel locks and grip them on the angle right where it goes into the transfer case and pull towards the ground/down... Spray some good slippery grease on all joints and work it back and fourth.... I actualy used pb blaster first then I greased it all up.... Wial pulling down with the channel locks have ur gf pull the lever to 4wheel at the same time this will help
