NP242 Questions Selec-Trac???

After reading several threads, (yes I do use the search tool) I am left wondering, can you drain and refill the 242 tranfer case on its own? I'm afraid it might be leaking what looks to be trans fluid (i read that trans fluid and TC fluid don't go together on the 242) but I won't know for sure until I can get under there, clean up everything and get all the bleeding to stop. This is a great forum with very helpful people and I am glad to be a part of it!
