Would I be ok if I put my transfer case in 4wd and drive without my rear driveshaft for about 15 miles? Basically I will only be driving with the front wheels.

I twisted my rear DS in two on the trail one time. I had to drive it out of the trail and then 20 miles to a friends place in front wheel drive. I stopped 4 times to refill the TC. I knew the fluid wouldn't stay but I didn't want to burn it up either. I made it and my TC is still fine to this day. The key is going slow because the front drive only can give you some wild steering inputs and keep those bearings in your TC from getting completely dry.

Simple solution, but I've heard of jerry rigging a ziploc bag on the output shaft that is ziptied on. I've never looked at doing it, but I've always been told to do that if I ever need to take my rear DS off for any reason.
