Default No Crank or power to accessories

I have a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4.0 inline 6 I turn the key to the accessory position and I do not get any power to accessory ie windows, blower, radio, signals, wipers etc AND it doesn't crank. Headlights, interior lights, door ajar alarm, hazard lights, horn, power seat etc work. The battery is fully charged. I have changed the ignition switch, PCM and checked all fuses and relays. I am getting 12 volts to the ignition feed. Any ideas – this is driving me nuts!

Hey guys - I am surprise that this post has 72 views but no replies. Are there no replies because people are stumped like me (I doubt it because I know I am not the sharpest knife in the draw!!) or because there is not enough detail.... any commemts/thoughts/suggestions would be so helpful - thanks and have a great day!

Connect the negative cables to the starter and the positive to your battery and see if you get anything!! If you do its your starter, if not I'm stumped too.

Meke - thanks for the reply. I jumped the starter solenoid and the started turned.... so I am thinking the starter is not getting power.

I'm dealing with a similar issue. I'm frustrated too. Mine is a 1994 Cherokee. Except I get accessory power etc, just not cranking. Since lifetime warranty on the starter I installed a couple of years ago, I pulled it since only a couple of bolts. I wanted to be sure.
Had it tested at autozone. Mine was bad. But I think he may have set the test wrong when tested mine. I asked to have the new one tested too before I left. He did it a little differently. Or my old one had bad connection to the solenoid.
Now My starter is good- brand new.
So same situation you have of no power to the starter.

My post if anyone has suggestions for any help:

Seems in mine, it may still be a starter relay. Check your relays, fuses, etc. Otherwise could be the ignition switch. Not the key one, but the connector of the ignition switch. Reading other posts gives good info.

a few pages in they discuss the ignition switch if go down that route again.
Please post back if you find the problem/solution.

jemrec - yours sounds like a neutral safety switch. I grounded mine out and still nothing.

Well, I am hoping an update might solicite more replies. I am getting 12v to the ignition input pin but when I turn the key to the accessory or start/crank position then volts drop to ~.1v at the power input pin. I swapped around know good relays - no change. I replaced a ground wire and cleaned the ground to the block - no change. ANY IDEAS?

So the voltage is dropping from 12 volts to almost nothing on the same pin when you turn the key to accessories?

Bustedback - thanks for the reply and asking. That is exactly what is happening. To summarize what I have done:
- changed the ignition switch (from a bone yard)
- changed the PCM (from a bone yard)
- by passed the the neutral safety switch
- swapped known good relays around
- checked all fuses - via continuity not just observing to see if it is blown
- replace the ground cable from the battery to the fender well
- cleaned the ground on the block - with a metal file
- swapped batteries with know good battery from another car
- jumped the start solenoid and the starter spins

I am completely stumped - is there another ground I am overlooking or a fusable link. Again, none of the "accessories" are getting power ie blower, windows, wipers etc. but non-accessories ie lights, horn, power seats, break lights, hazards etc have power.

Look at the pink/black wire that is located at the plug on the bottom of the ignition switch. That is the accessory feed circuit and that wire gets pretty hot and will cook the terminal.

Accessory feed circuit wire looks fine - no discoloration at all... I have power to pins 7, 4, 3 -shown in the attached. 3 is the "red brake warning lamp driver" - should this be live? Something is draining the battery - so I must have a short... that is what I'm am going to chase next which could be the root cause of the no accessory power and no crank.

Minor update:
- long shot - pulled the starter had it tested - checked out OK
- used a test light on the battery to see if there is a current draw with everything off. Test light was on until I pulled the #16 - interior light/dome etc fuse. So I must have a short in that circuit but I can image that would result in the problem I am having.

Blaunerb: It was my NSS switch. I jumped the B&C for now until I replace/repair it. Wish I could help with your issue. Been thinking about it but seems you're doing all things to diagnosis. Check your grounds is all I can suggest? Seems maybe a ground issue somewhere. Maybe just add another battery ground to somewhere else to see if get any result. I hate electrical.

To find your short, this is what I did with my son's car. I hooked up a meter to the battery. Also can hook up a current meter in line with the battery. Pull fuses one at a time until no current draw. Of course, remove radio, clock or whatever would be normally on first. Then pull fuses, relays etc. I found it was the radio in my son's car. My radio died in my Jeep a few months ago,. Had a battery drain issue. Unplugged the radio, no more drain. So when i drive, quiet until I buy a new radio.
===================
read your previous post. Seems you're doing all that. (Scratch my head here)
