I just bought myself a niner and im already tearing into it. First thing to go is the aluminum D44. My current 44 has the rear disc brakes. Is it possible to simply swap housings since my axle retainers and disc brake set up is already there? Any special parts to scrounge up? and is there a particular d44 that lends itself to this swap? any help is appreciated.

 

I would swap in an 8.8- its way stronger and all your brakes including e brake will bolt on. You just gotta cut off the brackets and make some or buy some then weld em on. I just did this swap last week and I'm loving it
