For all you guys with WJ's that want a little more sound without being obnoxious and waking up the neighbors going with a performance muffler, I recommend the Walker 18444 SoundFX for a 97 ZJ. It's only 20" long as opposed to the stock 26" WJ muffler, so you'll need an extension adapter, but it sounds great on my 2000 4.0. It has a nice deep tone at low speed and doesn't sound weird but more like a V8. At least now I can tell how smooth the engine is running. It's actually smoother and quieter than it was on my ZJ, I think because of the multiple converters on the WJ.
I deliver newspapers early in the morning so I don't want to wake up my customers and this is perfect for what I want.

Excuse me, but I think you missed the point. I found what I want and I'm trying to share it! This thing is a nice mellow quiet sound that I can hear inside the jeep and won't wake anybody else up. If I was looking for noise, I'd buy a Flowmaster 40!
