Default Low oil pressure

I have a 2000 cherokee with 114000 miles i just did a cylinder head swap and just changed the oil pressure sensor but it still reads that my oil pressure is low...... could it be clogged oil pump?????

Probably not the oil pump.

The coolant that got into the oil wiped the cam bearings at least. Most of the oil pressure is developed there. The rod and crank bearings play a part in it, too.

You probably need a lower end rebuild.

Check with a manual gauge before assuming its an issue.

The original and replacement sensor show the same problem.

For each .001" increase in main bearing clearance there will be a 10 psi loss in oil pressure.

Just say'n.

^^ this. Check with the mechanical gauge to verify the oil pressure. The sending units and/or gauge could be at fault. However, if you replaced the head because it was cracked and leaking coolant into the oil, then whatever damage was done to the bearings has been done. Replacing the head stops the coolant leak, but it does not repair the bearing damage caused by the coolant contamination. What is the oil pressure anyway? Is the check gauge light coming on? Fairly normal operation is 20 psi hot idle and 40-50 psi at speed.

the cylinder head cracked once I got back home and I drove want to say a total of ten miles with it cracked sooo could there be that much damage to the bearings then? The pressure when stopped sitting at a red light is at about 10 and when I drive it rises to about 30 almost 35 but when I release the gas the pressure will instantly drop back down to around 15
