Newbie & 99GC speakers
Howdy Ya'll !
I have 2 Jeeps, 1 98 Cherokee Classic and a 99 Grand.
The 99 is actually my wifes, till I get around to buying her a new GC or a Commander. Then the 99 will be my hunting Jeep.
The 99 has a problem with the front Infinity speakers not working correctly.
They sound like they are blown. I dont think they really are blown but would like input from anyone who may have an idea what is wrong.
Could it be the amp is haywire & is there anyway to tell if it is without buying another one ?

if you mean the dash speaker, then yes they are probably blown. You can get replacements form jeep or with a little cutting of the frame can fit aftermarket speakers in teh holles and teh dash covers up teh modification

I recommend the Commander only if you have money to burn I own the 4.7 V-8 and I only get an average of 14.2 MPG with K&N air filter.
On the good note I love my commander it is like a grown up Cherokee with lots of POWER. Towed my old Escort from Wa to Ky with out losing a drop of tranny fluid driving 80+ through the Rockies. Lots of good power.
Welcome to CF we have an introductions section if you haven't check it out yet.

I had the same thing happen to my GC's Infinity speakers. I just replaced them with new ones from the dealer. I think they were around $45 each. It's an easy swap-out.

Thanks to both of you.
i will grab a cheapo speaker and see if it works, then buy some factory infinity's for it. They rock for a fctory speaker.
On the Commander, I was thinking more on the lines of a Hemi.
Doesnt it get more mps's ?

Checked on replacing the Infinitys in my 98. The dealer wanted 160.00 for front spkrs and 210.00 for rear spkrs. I bought 4 blauplunkts at Crutchfield for 93.00 shipped (I get a discount thru UPS). Changed the dash unit to Sony Explode and wired around Infinity amp (was told it was 2 ohm .spkrs were marked 2 ohm). Sounds good to me and I only have 225.00 in everything.
