new lift questions
i have a 98 grand cherokee limited and have a 6 in lift on it now with 285/16x10.5 tires. i want to go bigger to a total of 12 inch lift 3 in body lift with bigger tires and smaller wheels. money would be no option as i am deploying to iraq in jan. i would like som opinions on my plans and other options that i can do for my jeep i am new to this site. my entire plans would include a 4x4 square steel bumper f/r with military shackles 21 ton (made for tanks), the lift, wheels and tires, roof rack with full size spare, light bar top and front and tube doors custom made. let me kow if you can visualize and have suggestions and opinions.

it's a good thing money is no option cause it's gonna take alot of it to get your grand that high, you'll pretty much have to have a custom lift made along with....well,just about everything else

if you have 6" now you can fit 35's no problem with proper trimming, bumpstops and wheels with less BS (if your talking 12.5's) At 7" there would be almost no clearance issues.
have you seen the trucks 5grand Cherokee they only used about 5.5 inches of lift and then trimmed some to fit the 35's. if you want to use 37's i would start looking at Dana 60 front and maybe a 14 bolt rear to handle that much tire. but if you don't plan a lot of hard core wheeling then some dana 44's might do ok for you
