Default Need rim/tire help

Just bought a 98 Grand Cherokee laredo very clean truck old guy owned lol. im new to the 4x4 thing im a car guy. there is nothing done to it at all. its not lifted yet, but I wanna put rims and tires on it. my question is can i fit 31's on the 15 inch stock wheels? will there be any issues? the tires on there are 225/75/15, if i can run 31 inch tires on it what would be the size? do i need spacers?

And would my friends stock 03 rubicon wheels fit my jeep?

you can stuff 31's under a stock grand but there will be some rubbing.
yes,TJ wheels have the same bolt pattern.

it seems to vary,i've seen where some guys have little to no problems with 31's and others have a little trimming to do. If you want to play it safe stick with 30x9.5's

If your friend's tires rubs on your jeep then I think you needed to put on some spacers or get a lift to run these 31 inch tires with no problem at all...

Stock rubicon's come with (245/75's) 30.5x9.5 tires. They aren't exactly 31" tall, just rounded off. I'm betting your friend's tires are worn some so they will probably be around 30" or a bit smaller.

You can NOT clear 31's on a ZJ with out a 2" BB.

The ZJ has smallish wheel wells and with out alot of welding there's nothing you can trim in the rear to make them fit..

30's will even rub on a stock height ZJ..
