Need Help with motor swap question.
Ok guys I know that this is a dumb question and I am sure it has been answered before, but I am a little rushed on this chance and haven't not really been able to find a straight answer.
Ok so I found a 1998 Grand Cherokee my neighbor wants to get rid of but it has a blown motor. I have a motor from a 1993 XJ sitting in my shop. I know that the blocks will mount the same, Unless I am wrong. I am just not sure on the other stuff. From what I understand is I can take my 93 motor, put it in the ZJ and just reinstall all 1998 accessories, brackets, sensors, and Flywheel to the 93 and all will be good. or do I need to swap the heads as well?
Thanks in advance guys, I can really use the help.

You got it. Use the 93 long block with the 98 intake, exhaust, sensors.... No need to swap the head. Is the ZJ engine actually blown or just making noises like it's blown? It would be awesome if it were only loose torque converter bolts making noise.

Hey, Busted, does he need the flexplate from the '98 or will the '93 bolt up? Oh, wait. I think he mentioned the "flywheel".

I think so. I have a 99 intake on a 95 head with no issues, and I have seen 91-96 heads on 2000-01 XJs without any problems. Use the ZJ flex plate.
